Model Catalog
The Model Catalog feature of the Seldon Enterprise Platform provides a centralized repository for managing, organizing, and accessing machine learning models within your organization. This feature helps you to:
Store and version models: track different versions of models, ensuring that you can manage updates and rollbacks efficiently.
Manage metadata: attach and manage metadata associated with each model, such as descriptions, performance metrics, and other relevant details.
Search and discover: find and view models based on various attributes, such as tags, metadata, or model performance.
Manage model lifecycle : integrate with CI/CD pipelines to manage the lifecycle of models from development to deployment, monitoring, and updating.
Control access: define who can access, modify, or deploy models, ensuring that only authorized personnel can manage the models.
Streamline deployment: effortlessly integrate models from the catalog into production environments, simplifying the deployment and monitoring of models within the Seldon Enterprise Platform..
Overall, the Model Catalog feature helps streamline the model management process, improve collaboration, and enhance the governance of machine learning models across the organization.
To explore this feature of Seldon Enterprise Platform, you need PostgreSQL. Install PostgreSQL through managed cloud services or by deploying it directly within a Kubernetes cluster. You can also opt to use an existing PostgreSQL instance outside of the Kubernetes cluster that runs Seldon Enterprise Platform.
Note: PostgreSQL operates as an external component outside of the main Seldon stack. As a result, the administration and management of the PostgreSQL instance used by Seldon are the responsibilities of the cluster administrator.
Amazon RDS¶
Amazon RDS provides a managed PostgreSQL solution that can be used for storing Seldon Enterprise Platform Model metadata. For information about setting up RDS, managing backups, and other best practices, see AWS RDS User Guide. Ensure the following while setting up RDS:
The instance is accessible from Seldon Enterprise Platform. If Seldon Enterprise Platform is not on the same VPC, make sure the VPC used by RDS has a public subnet.
The security group used for accessing the RDS instances allow inbound and outbound traffic from and to Seldon Enterprise Platform. For more information, see Setting up security groups for RDS.
Cloud SQL for PostgreSQL¶
Google provides a managed PostgreSQL solution that can be used for Seldon Enterprise Platform’s Model Metadata Storage. For information about setting up RDS, managing backups, and other best practices, see Cloud SQL for PostgreSQL.
Ensure that the instance is accessible from Seldon Enterprise Platform. If using the public IP generated for the instance make sure the network that runs Seldon Enterprise Platform is part of the Cloud SQL authorized networks.
